Programming and web development for the project »The Body as Co-author of the Archive« by Esther Siddiquie in collaboration with graphic design studio Distaff Studio.

The artist is looking for ways to liberate the archive from its static, cumulative identity. She emphasises the physical interaction with archival material. The project refers to a different indexicality that arises when an archive is (re)animated by the body. The body becomes a co-author of the archive. As part of the research, performative experiments with selected archive material were developed to stage and share such an encounter. The results were presented as part of an interactive symposium at the »Favoriten Festival« 2022. The website presents a series of physical interventions with archive materials that question different approaches to archiving and offer insights into the contents of the archives.
